Landlord claims we threatened him

We are currently engaged in an action involving the PRTB. Our landlord has been firing various letters to us and text messages. I am writing to him outlining he cannot contact us like this....anyways having sent us a rent arrears from i noted he has been overcharging. The amount on the form and the amount we pay to him has created a tidy sum. I wrote to him advising him of this and mentioned passing the file onto revenue....came home yesterday to find the Gardai in the house. My laddo has claim i threatened him...diddums...I think the pressure is getting to him and the ragged trousered philanthropists are mounting a good defence against this worst element of celtic tiger ireland.....the poor landlord. I shall not be in touch with him again and look forward to the PRTB hearing.
 
Interesting post. Are you asking for advice or just putting that out there for us?

Some questions;
Are you paying your full rent?
On time?
Have you arrears?
If so, how much?
What is your plan for dealing with this?
Do you have a lease stating what you should be paying?
Do your landlords figures tally with that?
Why contact revenue?
Do you know if he is underdeclaring income?
How will this help you resolve your difficulty via the PRTB?
Why would the Garda be in your property?
Did you threaten him?
Did they question or caution you?
Would you not considering forgetting about all this and moving?

The lease small print has the amount which is less than what we have been paying.
The only threat to him was if he did not pay back the monies owing we would let revenue know. This was writing. He went to the Gardai and claimed I directly threatened. I have not seen him since last year.
And no , no walking away. Its time landlords were pulled up. My heart bleeds for the poor little lambs...........)
 
Personally, I would walk away! You won't make the world a better place with stand.

What do you mean by the amount in the small print of the lease?
Why would you pay more than an amount stated in a lease?
Are you paying the amount set out in the lease schedule?

Note: I am a landlord, and provide very good standards of accomadtion to my tenants, at cosiderably less than a mortgage would be on the same property, and with none of the risk. I think that's a good deal for the so called 'lambs' (your word)

Aside from what's stated on the lease, what was discussed at the time when you first viewed the property/agreed to rent the property?

Would you go on out of that,you knew exactly what you were at when you rented that property and how much the rent was.

Do you think we all came down in the last shower.
 
What type of lease do you have - fixed term or Part 4 tenancy (i.e. an expired Fixed term lease and no new lease signed)?
When did the first lease commence and what is/was its expiry date?
How much is the rent according to the lease?
How do you pay the rent - cash, direct debit of some other way?
 
I'm not too good at modern internet terminology. Is OP what people nowadays call a troll ?
