I have been in discussion with a UK property company in the last few weeks regarding the subject of Land Banking.
Basically, they have purchased certain araes of land in strategic areas of the UK which currently don't have planning permission.
They are offering me the opportunity to buy a plot of land along (e.g.Stg£6000) with other investors in one of these projects with the prospect of significant appareciation in the value of the land, once planning permission has been obtained and the land sold on to a developer.
When I voiced my concern about the danger of planning permission not being granted, they advised that the investor can cash in his initial investment at any time, thus getting their initial outlay back. (this gurantee would be given in writing in the contract issued by their lawyers).
They company themselves appear quite professional in terms of my correspondence with them so far.
Does anyone have any views on this subject of land banking ?
