lampshades

I'm thinking of replacing a few lampshades on a half dozen tablelamps I have. My problem is the holder i.e. the part that slips down over the bulb holder and then is secured with a ring, is bigger than the norm. All the lampshades I've looked at have a small holder. Could anyone suggest somewhere to look as all the regular places like Woodies don't have any suitable. The shades are a sort of parchment & are coolie hat shape and I would like to get similar ones.

I think I got some specialised stuff like this in Hickens Lighting Shop Bridge Street - beside the Brazen Head pub, some years back.

Stillorgan Decor have a very good range of lighting and might be able to help.

If I am understanding you right, there is a ring adaptor you can get for this. If you ask in a lighting shop they will explain. I got one some years ago for this problem. Stillorgan Decor may well have them - I forget where I bought mine.

IKEA has ring adaptors if I recall correctly. I bought some there a while ago and they were very cheap.

Thanks all. The ring adaptors would only work if I was putting a bigger shade holder onto a smaller lamp light. It's the other way round for me so I'll try those suppliers suggested.
