Laminate Wooden Floors Wet

Just had a leak in my house, and the laminate wooden floors got wet, do you think they will need to be replaced or are they ok?

How wet?

If the excess was dried up quickly you might be OK. You'll maybe have to leave it for a few weeks to see if they are affected but a bit of water, fairly promptly cleaned up, shouldn't do much harm.

If the water has penetrated into the tongue-and-groove joints, or the bottoms of the boards they may swell and split or separate.

Mopping laminate with a damp mop or sponge is never a problem. As per Caveat's post, you'll have to wait and see.

Thanks guys, well it was a leak from the pipes coming from the shower upstairs, its only a new house, haven't even moved in yet,water came from under the skirting boards so Im thinking it probably went under the floors aswell as on top of them, builder said he will replace them if they start to seperate, they look ok at the moment, we cleaned it up fairly fast once we spotted it, probably wet for about 20 minutes before we noticed it. I could go crazy, it took so long to put them down
