Not exactly answering your question but have you consideres the following
1. How do you intend getting from city center to Dundrum. You will have to walk from connolly station to Stephens green approx 20 min walk and then get Luas to Dundrum.
2. Before buying try staying overnight in the area that you intend to move to during the week to get a feel for what the experience of travelling by train will be like. Rush hour both ways or your expected time of travelling. Train times may not suit. Do this a few times in the winter and summer.
3. What happens where you want a night out or late night in Dublin/ Dundrum. What time is the last train from Dublin?
4. How long will it take you to get to the train station in Kildare. What is parking like in the station that you intend using. Most of these stations are full at 7am 7.30am. Parking will only get worse.
