Key to Internal Door Missing

Hi All, a friend of mine has just moved into rented accommodation and the double doors between the sitting room and the kitchen are locked and the key is lost. Landlord does not have a spare one. She's finding it very annoying. No name or code on the handles. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks.

It's the landlord's problem - solution is to replace the entire lock - easily done - don't do it yourself whatever happens - you'll be left to solve any other similar problems which may arise during the tenancy.

Most inside doors are basic locks with a limited number of different keys. If you have a local locksmith bring him any other key from one of the other locks. They can usually provide you with a selection of all the keys for those locks (and you give them a deposit). Once you get the right one, return the rest and pay for the one you keep!
