Not sure what anyone else thinks but a key post about the PRTB would be timely as it's entering into landlord's and tenants lives more and more to judge from the question on AAM. So far I know it's better from a landlord's point of view to not have a lease, to register with the PRTB, but that I'd be wasting time dealing with the PRTB if speed was of the essence in dealing with a problem tenant etc. Something along those lines........

Isn't a landlord (with some exceptions) obliged to register with the PRTB? And it's normally (always?) necessary in order to claim tax reliefs (e.g. set mortgage interest against rental income etc.)?
