Driving on the motorway and noticed a hammering sound coming from the engine so pulled over. Car subsequently towed and the garage say the engine is probably kaput- they don't know without investigating but think it is the injectors- to find out they have to remove head and probably damage it- very expensive. It's a 04 with 95,000 miles. I have to meet them tomorrow and think they may offer scrappage ( I'm just guessing).
BTW I didn't buy the car from them but have it serviced there- last service was two weeks ago.
Looking for advice, please. Should I wait for them to examine car, or should I go for scrappage and if so, how much?
