Hi
I am just recently married and Im looking for some advice in regards what to do regarding tax credits.
I really don't know too much apart from the fact that we are granted some additional credits now that we are married.

Both of us are in full time employment.
I earn €46,500 per year and my wife earns €30,000.
Is it best that i take all of the tax credits or would we be better off if we split the credits?

Im just looking for some advice on what to do, so that we get the best use of our married tax credits.

Thanks
R

Congratulations!! Welcome to AAM!
You can opt for joint or separate assessment! look up http://www.revenue.ie/en/personal/index.html to assess your options. presumably you are both on PAYE. Given the closeness of your salaries the simplest decision would be to opt for joint assessment. Contact Revenue helpline and they will amend your tax certs.
