Jobseekers benefit and studying

Hi

I'm on Jobseekers benefit at the moment and I'm thinking of taking up an evening FAS course in January. Obviously if I'm still on benefits then it won't interfere with my ability to seek work but how will the Department view it?

Also can I get any financial assistance from the Department for the course? If so is it means tested?

Hi, doing an evening FAS course wont interfere with your ability to be available for work. The FAS course will enhance your chances of gaining employment so enquire as to what help will be available.

SW have no financial help for p/t education course.
