yes you do, its taxable.job seekers allowance isnt. revenue will have details of your taxable SW benefits on their system,at least in the PAYE section anyway. i presume ITX section is the same even though u wudnt know with the revenue. regardless it shud b included
ring SW on 01-7043798. they will send u a statement for the total taxable benefits for the year, after deducting tax free element (€13 p/w i think) the amt on the statement is the amount u include on your F11. you are entitled to a PAYE credit against JSB, if ur not already using it against other paye income.
The Revenue & the SW systems have been linked from 2006 onwards, therefore the RC should have your taxable SW benefits on record (hence why best to include because they will prob know anyway) but I agree with Black Sheep, best to just ring SW on 01-7043798 and request statement
Why make it so difficult -There is no obligation to provide a statement from Social Welfare with tax returns -
There is no need to worry OP - If you claimed a SW benefit during the tax year , and you request a P21 , you can rest assured that the tax office will take account of the amount you received in social welfare benefits .
