Am very happy with the co. I am with now however have come across a job as described above on the web that looks interesting. But apparently its 40 hours at least a week, reading between the lines Id say its 50+ hours most weeks, very intensive etc. I have a young family and money it not much more than I am on now, so am wondering if its for me ...

Can anyone shed any stories on working for similar co in similar role in the IFSC and maybe confirm my suspicions?

Generally the banks have people here to maintain systems, and have centralised groups abroad as to keep config. standard. Although this bank may be different, have group here.

Best advise seen as you have nothing to lose is to state truthfully your expectations, and clarify your family situation.

One question: If you are happy where you are, and the money is similar, why are you looking at another job ???
 
Hey Venue, I in IT work for an financial institution and they really do put the boot in when it comes to out of hours work.. so I'd consider it very carefully.

Most dont pay overtime, you might get time in lieu but thats about it..

If you have a good job, nice hours and a decent quality of life, stay with it or you just might regret it.

The only reason I'd leave if it were for better money and conditions or for a promotion to a more senior position.

Nope, its the going industry rate for what I do.. I could get the same if I went
elsewhere without looking too hard..
