Hi there,
I joined my company back in 2005 and my contract had a salary scale where I started on the bottom scale. It was noted on the scale a that the starting salary for someone with a degree would be a couple of increments higher. Now I realised to get this increment I would have to get a degree, which I now have successfully completed. I am now being given the indication that they will not give me the rise unless I have an honours degree which will mean having to do an extra year. It seems as if they have moved the goalposts. So my question is can they do this seen as how it only stated a degree and not honour degree on my contract. I know many people who only had ordinary degrees who got the rise. Should they still have to give it to me or where do I stand?
Any help or information would be very much appreciated thanks.
