I invested €1000 in 4 ISEQ company shares in January. Through the year I have invested in 2 more shares. Now in November, I have sold all shares except the worst one that is now at break even. My share portfolio shows a profit of €223.
I am thinking to continue on the dole and to invest €10k initially with a €10k back-up fund.
Do I have an apptitude for this ?
Over the last few years I have simplified my finances in order to get a mortgage and apply for medical cards and maybe Family Income Supplement (now WFP ?). My policy is that I will not save long term. I will spend any extra cash on holidays or a car. Any lump sum would be used for home...
Well it would be interesting to see exactly what you did....
That said, probably not. But then most people don't have the ability and the mentality to be a good stock picker over say a 30 year period. And your return to date, even though it is only for one year, does not even meet average expectations for stock pickers....
