Is my tv finished

When turning on my tv over the last few weeks the screen has been wobbly and has taken a few moments to reach full screen. Yesterday the screen went blank and will not come back on again. Philips 32 inch widescreen tv approx 4 years old. Is this repairable or am I better off scrapping it and looking for a new one?

It may well be just the power supply adapter - they tend to go fairly often and are not as cheap to replace as you would think. Is there an indicator light on the power supply adapter? If it is flickering or not on at all - there is probably a problem with it.

I'm unsure, personally I would go to the retailer as i didn't buy the product from the manufacturer

I didn't think the retailer had any obligation beyond a couple of years - not sure where I picked that up from, so could be wrong...

Your sure his tube isn't gone ?
OP states it was `wobbly` coming on ......so its more than likely a capacitor in the power supply faulty which when left unchanged blows the line output transistor , thats in the case of the Philips tv they describe (32"... 4 years old ...probably chassis L 1.1)
Hard to diagnose for sure without seeing it but I am almost certain thats the problem.:)
