Is counselling (for a young child) with a qualified therapist a qualifying expense for Med 1 purposes? I have looked at the Revenue website and I think it seems to indicate that it is - as long as the therapist is appropriately registered. Does anyone know for sure? (He was referred by the family gp).

Have a look here:

It may be the case that even though there was a referral by a GP, if the therapist isn't a "qualifying practitioner" in their own right then the treatment may not qualify for relief.
