Is Child Benefit affected whilst working abroad?

If you are sent abroad on a company assignment for a year or more, what is the status of the child benefit allowance that the government pays the lady of the house? If the assignment is short term, what is the story and what are the implications of long term work duration abroad?

Any information on this would greatly benefit.

The first one clearly states that Child is deemed ordinarily resident in the state if the parent is temporarily working abroad on behalf of an Irish employer and is paying PRSI contributions.
