Getting solid oak put down upstairs on plywood over exisitng floorboards. Will ten days be long enough to let the floorboards climatise or do I need to wait longer?

Many thanks for all advice...

Ours was down for about that long some three years ago and hasn't moved a millimetre since being fitted.

What does the board manufacturer recommend? It might cause issues down the line about who's responsible of it does move/warp if it was not allowed the recommended time.

I have not thought about asking the manufacturer! The company I bought from and who will also install said a week should be enough but the longer the better...

Many thanks Leo, in there is says 4-5 days if the "site condition is satisfactory", which I can say it is. It says to remove packaging, which hasn't been done, so I suppose I'll attack the packaging with a stanley knife tonight!

Hi Petal,

If you're only doing it in the rooms, have you thought about the detail at doors, skirtings and thresholds?

If you're extending it to the landings have you thought about the detail at the stairs?
