Iron water pipes in attic - should I replace them?

Hi all,

We have these iron water pipes running across the entire length of the attic and then down to sinks in the house. When travelling vertically, they are embedded in the wall (solid brick so a channel was made).

We want to install attic insulation and also dry line the house. I have two concerns:

- could the iron pipe develop pin holes and therefore leak?

- when the dry lining is done, the vertical pipe will be on the cold side of the wall and therefore could it freeze and subsquently leak?

I have a photo but can't seem to upload it here.

Many thanks,

B.
