Iron Fire Surround Fixing

We plan on papering around the chimney breast area in the lounge, the fire surround is a black iron unit fastened to the wall.
It would be very difficult to cut the wallpaper around the complicated shapes.

Can this be loosened off and leaned forward so that we can tuck the paper behind? Will I break any seals to the fire? I can see 2 large screws each side at the top, is there more? Has any experience of fitting these.

difficult to tell with out any pics.
The screws may be ornamental.
Equally it could just be a decorative front screwed on to the piece thats sealed into the chimney breast.

Have u tried to see if u can unscrew them, try a half turn on each

The two large screws towards the top would be the standard fixing method alright. There'll be no problems with seals or anything like that doing what you suggest.

There may be a problem though if whoever installed the fire surround used adhesive to fix it in place. If they did, it might be close to impossible move it out without significantly damaging the surround, the wall, or both.

Thanks Leo. I have found 4 screws that are all removable, hopefully it's not stuck to the wall
