Just wondering if Irish investment platforms like Davy Select & Goodbody etc allow shares held electronically to be transferred in or out from De Giro? In other words, can you for example buy shares on De Giro and then transfer them to Davy Select? Or can you transfer shares held by Davy Select to De Giro in order to sell them? Whilst I like the low charges of De Giro, I would like to hold shares with an Irish stockbroker / Investment platform that you can physically phone and in the case of Davy are part of BOI

Yes.
You'll need to check the full schedule of charges. I believe Davy accept transfers in free of charge (although Degiro might charge you), and they have a fee for processing each transfer out. Something like 30 euro per holding. I've never used it, so can't comment on how easy it is.

User friendliness of Irish based Davy and low charges of De Giro
Just keep in mind that Davy have a quarterly charge.
When you buy / sell a commission is calculated, but the quarterly charge is offset against it (I.e. you only pay the commission if in the quarter its more than the standing charge).

I know I'm not explaining it well. It's in their fees brochure.
