iPhone4 unlocked and on 02?

If I buy an unlocked iPhone4 (is it even possible to buy them?) will it work on the O2 network does anyone know?
 
An unlocked iPhone will work on any network.

Unlocked iPhone 4's can be purchased in Apple UK & US stores and via ebay.
 
They come SIM free so will work on any network. Available here Friday 30th, not sure of pricing, but looking at the US version, with exchange rates it's not really worth getting them from there. Not sure how it will compare with the sterling though.

That is only if Apple supply them sim free on their site. O2, Vodafone and 3 will all be selling sim locked phones.

They will be, as they do in the UK. Looking at the current price structure for the 3GS, there's very little difference in the sterling/Euro price once you convert over. I suspect it'll be similar for the iPhone 4.
