hi there

without having equity in your house but wanting to invest in uk is there anyway of getting a mortgage.

I could pay a mortgage and all related charges and would have the deposit but as far as im aware mortgages can only be applied for for properties here in ireland.

i know the usual is to use equity in your own house but i dont have any equity built up worth taking out

cheers

Other than not owning a house at all how would this happen other than if the house was constantly mortgaged for 100% (or more!?) of its value (e.g. a 100% interest only morgtgage which sounds unlikely/uncommon on a PPR)?
but wanting to invest in uk is there anyway of getting a mortgage.
Without some security/collateral I doubt it.

let me just clarify

i own half my house with a family member but only 2 years in the house so not much in the way of equity there to release

Royal Bank of Scotland offer 80% BTL mortgages against UK investment properties to Irish residents, subject to meeting their lending criteria of course.

I think BOS also offer UK BTLs to Irish residents, not sure.
