Invalidity : Free Travel Pass Question

My mother has just recieved a Travel Pass due to her Invilidity.

She is allowed have someone accompany her, however it says spouse/partner. My dad wouldnt be helping her on her travels, it would be me.

Is there anyway that I could be her helper on this pass?
 
I have a friend on invalidity and he has what is called a companion pass. Im not sure though if you can get this unless you are in need of a carer. You should call the free travel section at DSFA and they should be able to tell you. You will find their number at www.welfare.ie
