Really need to pick internal doors for our new build but struggling somewhat to find somewhere in the South East that has a good selection. Would really like to see the doors before making a final decison and not pick from a brochure. Interested in a comtemporary design. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
Hi there Hurling Fan,

Have just recently completed 18 internal doors in the south east, but I bought the doors in dublin. Seemed to get a good deal, we went for a white oak shaker style door. They were priced at €153 but I haggled and got them for €104 EACH. They are a veneered door and finished up very well after 3 coats of varnish. Got them in Brooks Thomas. Also got a reasonable deal on handles and hinges. All in costs were as follows

18 doors €1,868
handles €633
hinges €190 (3 per door)
Varnish €120 3 tins quickdry
Chippy €1,550 to include fitting architrave

Final cost per each hung and furnished door €242.27

Have to say it was a bit of a pain trying to source the doors, took weeks and weeks. Then funnily enough had to wait 4 weeks for a Sale to be over ( were €130 in Sale !) in order to get them for €104 !!!!!

if you're in/near Waterford try Heiton Buckley's on the Cork Road

we got white oak shaker doors/frames there - think the overall price was similar to secman's

we got the doors and frames sprayed rather than varnished by hand
 
Thanks for replies guys. See Brooks have stores in Carlow and Waterford so might give them a shot and maybe have a look at Heiton Buckleys in Waterford while I'm at it. A bit relucant to drive to Dublin just to get doors (especially with 4 moany children in the back!). The shaker style is nice too and might just be what I'm after.

If you haven't got your doors yet, I believe Heiton Buckley in Callan have a new selection. Was down there recently just before new section opened and they were really helpful.
Could also try Woodland Joinery in Loughboy, Kilkenny or that new place in New Ross - they have a great selection - can't remember their name, something like DFS, it's located on the ring road up from Tesco.
