I had a case in Liverpool in the last few weeks.
Almost without exception now they transfer any Irish debt case to Liverpool to go before the Circuit Judge. You file a witness statement with evidence of your COMI and the Order is made. It is a pain, it adds a few months to the process and an extra court hearing.
Last time, as the client had been in Liverpool for a few years I was able to convince the Judge to just make the order there and then.
So if you have any friends and family looking to do this in Liverpool and they have been there a while, I may be able to get them through on one hearing only now.
