Interactive Brokers as a possible alternative to Interactive Investor UK

I notice in another thread (https://askaboutmoney.com/threads/interactive-investor-ireland-absorbed-by-ii-uk.217165/) that customers of Interactive Investors Ireland are being forced to transfer to II UK where there is an ongoing monthly fee.
If you are looking to move to another low cost broker you might want to consider (IBKR).
I have been investing with them for the last 7 years and been very happy with the service.

The fees are comparable to Degiro.

When I opened my account there was a requirement for a minimum investment equivalent to $10k.
I have paid no maintenance fees just trading fees which add up to very little as I don't trade a lot just buy and hold and sell when I need some cash.
Maybe its worth considering as an alternative to II UK or Degiro.
I've seen plenty of comment on the site about Degiro but nothing really about IBKR - not sure why.
