I am thinking of getting inssurence on my wifes life and maybe/ health is this normally done for a set period at a time e.g. 10 years ? or would it be done for longer.?
I am covered through a morgtage and work.

Is it a case of shopping around for the best policy type / premium.
 
If you mean life assurance then you can get this for a fixed term or for whole of life. As with any financial (or other) product/service you always have to shop around having first identified your specific requirements/needs.
