Hi,

I am looking into installing an outdoor tap. Is this a relatively easy DIY job? My DIY skills are minimal enough so i wouldn't like to have a crack off it if it required any major amount of finesse.....

If this job does prove to be beyond my limited skills does anyone know of a ballpark figure to get one installed by a plumber in these difficult times?

Thanks,
WB

Any of the DIY shops sell kits and instructions to do this job, for example - [broken link removed]

ALDI / LIDL had one as well last year....

If you are handy its no problem but unless you are sure you can do the job don't mess with plumbing water can be very unforgiving .

There was a thread on this before if you search for it.

I installed the one we have in the back of my house, no problem. Bought a DIY kit from B&Q and its still working 2.5 years later.

Saw two versions of an outdoor tap kit in Aldi yesterday, €17 each. You definitely wouldn't buy all the bits included in the pack for that price if you bought them separately in a hardware shop. To pay a plumber €60 (or thereabouts) to have it done for you seems like a very good deal though - I could do it myself (and have done in the past) but would be happy to pay that NOT to have to do it!
