Hi All,
Looking for people advice on what to do.
We are currently building our new story and half house to a A3 rated house and as airtight as possible. We are using underfloor heating on the ground floor and on the first floor on top of a concrete slab. We are putting in a HRV system as well for airtightness. We are using a gas combi boiler for the heating as we are on the mains. We are putting in a multi-fuel airtight inset fire in our living room.
The advice I am looking for is on the type of airtight inset to put in the wall between the kitchen and sunroom. The inset will be double sided. We have two options:
1. A gas inset
2 Wood burning inset
We love the idea of the gas inset but are worried about the running costs of it. We will mainly be using the fires in late spring or early autumn when the underfloor heating is turn off.
Has anyone experience of a gas inset?
Thanks
