Inheritance of farm

My aunt( by marriage) who is in her 70s is concerned about putting her affairs in order so that her family will have minimum problems in the event of her death. Her late husband ( my uncle ) died suddenly over 30 years ago. I don't know if he had made a will before his death. The home and land is still registered in his name as my aunt never had this transferred into her own name.
What are the consequences of this when she eventually passes away?
Will it be more problematic for her adult children when the time comes? None of them live in the home.
Would it be best for her to have the farm transferred into her name first and then leave instructions in her will regarding her final wishes?
If she doesn't make any arrangements or a will how would the home and farm be dealt with as regards inheritance?

Any advice posters can offer is greatly appreciated.

Regularise the ownership by getting the property transferred to her.
Make a will and she has control over who she wants to inherit.
If she doesnt it will create nothing trouble as the Succession rules kick in

Thanks guys for your advice. I'll discuss this with her when I see her now that restrictions are eased.
