Upgrading kitchen soon. Seriously considering going for 600mm 4 ring induction hob. Looking at various models – Bosch, De Dietrich, Zanussi, Belling. Are Bosch / De Dietrich the best brands? Is Bosch or De Dietrich best for performance, reliability etc.
Many thanks.

Hi,

I have a Bosch Induction Hob, I find it pretty good. The only problem I have with it is very simple. When you want to turn on and off for example, the top right hand ring, you need to press the keypad to bring you through the rings before it, ie, the left and then the top left and then the top right. If you have a pot thats just about to boil over, it can take a few seconds to actually get to that ring and start reducing it down.

My sister has one but not sure what make it is where you can just press the keypad on the front which has a diagram of the rings, just that little bit faster to move around.

Not sure I'm making sense here....but just have a look at the keypads before buying, I regret not looking at it in more detail. But other than that, the Bosch is great, easy to keep clean and very fast to heat.

Hope that helps.

I have De Dietrich but not induction, would find special pots a pain. I find it very good.

Repair guy (oven) mentioned that NEFF are the best in his opinion. Miele would appear to be popular but pricey. Bosch is usually a good brand also Siemens if they do them.

Have a De Dietrich induction hob and find it excellent. We had to get some new pans but no big deal.
Great functions on it like timer and spill protection.
Really fast to heat up a pan, also heat reduces instantly when you turn it off.

Would never go back to a normal hob again.

They are cleaner and safer .They are probably quicker. They are as controlable as gas but are expensive to buy I am not sure about running costs

Just to be aware that they are high powered & need to be wired same as a cooker (32Amp I think). Also given that these work through magnetic induction that there is some caution advised for people using pacemakers.

Great. Ta for this advice. Have decided to purchase a Bosch induction with touch keypad in front, each ring with its separate control. Looking forward to using it !
