Increasing Volume on Dell Laptop

It may just be old age but I reckon the volume on my laptop it not as high as it used to be. When I have it at max, I can comfirtable sit in-front of it & listen, but it's no go to use as a "radio" if I move any distance from it. Is there as way to over-ride the max volume and increase it? (I've check the control panel & everything is at max).

Did you mean is NOT as high as it used to be? Funnily enough I have the same problem with a fairly new Dell laptop....
