This question is two fold>

1) i have been approved for the transition pension when I retire later this year.
2) I am aware that I can earn up to €38 per week without affecting this pension.
3) I have just received notification from the pension Service in the UK that I am entitled to Stg£ 35 per week from my 65th birthday.

Does receipt of this Uk pension constitue earnings in the eyes of docial welfare and will it change their decision to pay me the transition pension?

  1. What are the tax implications of this small payment

If you have earnings, they must be less than €38 a week from employment

you are fine as the £35 from a pension - not from working

As for the tax its probably miniscule or Nil (depends on any other investment income you might have) but just fill out a form 12 at the end of each year.

If you pop into your local tax office they will let you know what you need to do
