Hi All,

Just filing my taxes online and noticed that the total amount on my income levy statement is not the same as the amount on my P60. For my husband they match. The online form will not accept my calculations because of this so I am not sure what I should do.

Anyone else experience this?

I want to file before the 7th Nov deadline but to do so I will have to inflate the figures which is submitting incorrect amounts..

Let me know if anyone has any suggestions..

Cheers

mine was similar -- i think it was due to pension contribs--- income levy cert shows amount before pension contribs, -

will check it up again

EDIT-Yes, that was it

Thanks for that but that's not it - I dont pay anything towards pension.

I looked at all my old payslips and its looks like the amount on my P60 is correct so the amount on the Income Levy is wrong...maybe I didnt pay all I should have. There is a difference of 1.5k. Not sure what to do as I want to pay and file online but it wont let me..

go with your p60 numbers--they probably match the p35 your employers submitted---but ask your payroll about the discrepancy

The income levy figure is your gross total income, the p60 is your gross taxable income there can be other reasons apart from pension contributions that can cause a difference, such as medical insurance that is tax relieved through your employment.

Instead of a pension, perhaps you contributed to a bike to work scheme? That's all the rage these days!

Apart from both pensions and salary sacrifice (bike-to-work/ travel passes/ employee profit share schemes), if you paid income continuance (or permanent health insurance) that premium would give rise to a lower pay value per P60 than the amount used for the income levy calculation.
