Hi,
I have been hit with a bill by the revenue for income & health levy on my UK salary. The salary is for a company in Birmingham and has no connection to work in Ireland, so I don't see how the revenue could try to charge me a levy for working abroad (especially when I had to leave the country in the first place because I was out of work)? I left Ireland in mid 2009 and selected non resident for the 2010 tax year, no income tax or prsi were charged on my notice of assessment.
I had to complete a tax return as I am the director of a small company but that had no income for that year (and has no connection to my new job). The tax bill is for a few thousand euros and I cannot afford to pay it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
