In the market for an LCD TV

My SSIA has come through and I am now in the market for a 32 inch LCD TV (among many other things! :) ). Even so, I`m not necessarily after the most expensive. There is so much choice. Is it fair to say that Sony and Samsung make the best models? How should one make a decision on this, apart of course from how they look.
 
not sure that sony holds the same weight as it used to, a friend recommends panasonic highly but im sure that you'll get more expert opinions here, did you try a search?

Yes, have spent 1 week on the web and visited Harvey Norman and Power City. It`s just that every salesperson has a different opinion
