In 40's, Qualified in narrow professional field, MBA advice

Am 43 years of age. Qualified in narrow professional field (veterinary).

Happy in job but want to do something to expand my horizons and give me career options in future.

Think I am gone a bit stale in job and need a new challenge. Not sure I want to practice veterinary for rest of my life.

Any opinions on doing an MBA? Looking to get a skill set I don't have. Always had aptitude for finance, economics etc.

Not sure about full time as have family and mortgage.

Ones I was considering were smurfit executive MBA or distance MBA with Manchester business school or Open University.

Any help appreciated.
 
Any options to get into more commercial work areas within your own field, maybe as business manager for a large practice, or selling products/services to other vets?
