If you stop being self-employed, when does the tax payment need to be settled?

I will most likely cease self-employment in December of this year. I am required to settle my tax bill in full for 2021 by October/November of this year. I am wondering what happens for the 2022 tax year when I notify Revenue of ceasing my self-employment? I know this year's tax bill includes a preliminary payment of income tax for 2022, but it obviously doesn't cover the entire amount owed. If I unregister as self-employed in December this year, does my outstanding income tax payment for 2022 immediately need to be settled or can I still wait until the following October/November as normal?
