SFIRA would find themselves siding with other nationalist refuseniks on the far right of the Tory party, UKIP, and the BNP and campaigning with their fellow isolationists for a No vote.
 
I think they would have to campaign for a no vote as they would otherwise be open to accusations of hypocrisy but I think it would stick in their collective craw. Imagine siding with the bound to be lukewarm/anti-treaty Tory government!

More interestingly would Ian Paisley have to learn how to say "YES" given that it would stick even worse with him to side with SF!! :D

What kind of idiots would base their voting decision on how other people are voting, instead of looking at the issues?

Yes, but I suggest that SF are anti-Lisbon for Ireland but that if there were a UK referendum they would be inclined to go with whats best for Ireland and not what's best for England.

They could always just abstain.

The same kind of idiots that feel queazy when they see the leaders of SFIRA, or UKIP on national TV screens telling us how awful Lisbon will be for Europe.

If scumbags like the Shinners or the BNP are against Lisbon, then its a pretty big ringing endorsement for me and for the 67% of Irish voters who reject their isolationist bigoted policies
 
Have the Conservatives shown their cards though? They are saying that the people should have been allowed to vote - obviously to spark anti Tory sentiment.
 
One thing for sure, Catholics in NI would vote 99% for Lisbon. The IRA want an all Ireland Socialist Republic. The Republic being sidelined out of the EU would make that objective more achievable. OTOH the UK rejecting Lisbon out would make that less likely.

However, I agree they might find their message getting confused as they never quite came upfront and admitted that their anti Lisbon vote was a nihilist strategy towards political meltdown.
