ICF Build

Hi, Anyone hear of Thermohouse in Kerry or anyone use their ICF system.
They even do an ICF roof, anyone have any thoughts on this>

Anyone know of any negative points to using ICF Walls or Roof?

I too am planning to build soon and was very interested in ICF until i got a quote, i was prepared to spend a bit extra as i believe it is a good system but the quotes i got back so far are too expensive.
One company offered a complete package from external walls, internal walls, floors and an insulated roof, the price to supply and build was around €155000 for the lowest u rated option.
To supply the ICF material only for the external walls alone was €28000 and thats before training, readymix, steel and extras.
I will shop around to see if i can get some more reasonable prices on ICF but unless they are alot better i will be sticking to cavity wall, im thinkin of a 6" cavity wall that i will pump with insulation and also put insulated boards on the inside of the external walls.

We are building ICF, well about to start in 1 or 2 weeks. To upgrade from block to ICF will cost us €12k plus VAT (using reward ICF and authorized builder). Agree with the above post that there are suppliers quoting €150k+ for walls only

Does this include the price difference between the ICF render and regular render typicall used for blockwork?

This is the part most people don't include in the comparison and it is substantial.

I saw them at a Self build show & was impressed with their system. I'm not an expert overall, but I did look at ICF before & though that the best in class systems were from Thermohouse, Euromac & Nudura.

Got a quote from Euromac but they were really expensive at the time.

It does, it could be wrapped into to other upgrades we have asked for like concrete floors/stairs but on the contract it is a line item @ €12k.
