My house is 3 bedroom duplex on top of an apartment. There is a chimney but because it is only 10 years old the builders installed gas fires in all the houses as seems to be the norm now. It costs me a fortune to turn it on and as the sitting room is quiet big its very cold. I want to use a real fire again and buy my coal weekly - I am just wondering how big of a job it is to take out the gas fire so i can safely burn coal???
Any advice would be much appreciated.
