I think my rent allowance is wrong!

So just came out of the Cwo today and got the worse news ever :mad:. We were advised by the Citizen Advice that we would be able to rent a house up to the value of 700 as a couple and we'd have to pay 24 each a week.

This was fine, but then the Cwo told me he will only pay 290 a month and we have to pay the other 410 ourselves. He said it was because we both got our full benefit of 204. I did tell him though that Kev's would be going down to 140 in three weeks because i'm finishing a fas course. He said he would pay 324 then.

Is this right? Should the cwo not be paying more???

Any help would be great.

Your income is 408.60 each week (assuming 204.30 x 2). This is compared with the rate for a couple (where only one person is claiming for both adults) which is 339.90 per week. You have to pay the difference between these 2 amounts (408.60 - 339.90) and 24 euro per week towards the rent yourselves.

I've worked it out and its defo that.

Its like they give it to us with one hand and take away with the other
