AIB I paid capital off my mortgage recently?

I am one of the AIB customers affected by the tracker issue. I had a fixed rate mortgage which matured in 2012 I believe. And was not offered a tracker after the fixed rate matured in 2012. I received a cheque from AIB for c. €1500 in 2017.

i assume I am one of the 5,900 cases in the recent ruling. I got made redundant a couple of years ago and have found it difficult to get alternative work. As a result, in order to keep my ongoing bills as low as possible, I paid down my mortgage last year from savings and drawing down from my pension.

My mortgage was well in excess of €200k in 2012.

The recent ruling states that redress is to write down the the mortgage by 12% - however as I have paid off my mortgage, does this impact the redress that I am entitled to ?

Thanks.

No. you will get a write down of the balance when your fixed rate ended in 2012.

It does not matter what happened since.
