Yep, I finally heard of a way to put the fear of God into this corrupt government.

Why don't we all apply for a shotgun? If thousands of us applied for a shotgun that would surely alarm the government.

Come on lets do it.

What I really can get a shotgun? I for sure would like to apply so that I'm prepared to defend my property during the soon to come food riots.

On a serious note, does anyone think that someone will do something terrible to a public figure in the current climate? Something worse than abusing a Building Society Chairman or spitting at a Construction Industry Federation Director General?
Mods, please delete if you feel people might get ideas.

Let's hope no one gets ideas & certainly lets hope nobody acts on any ideas they may get.

2009 is only the start of the pain to come for Ireland IMHO. As the country slips more towards a Weimar-type republic I think that more than a few crazies will surface.
 

I was only saying that to a friend the other day. I think things could get far far worse and people will be desperate to get some form of justice.

I heard that Fitzpatrick has to be hidden in the boot of his car when leaving his estate. I also heard he got a box from a random person in the airport.

Actually brought a smile to my face. I feel sorry for the families of these monsters but they have reaped what they sowed . .
 
That's exactly what I mean. If you had lost everything and you figured you knew who was to blame for your situation, you'd have a few nasty thoughts, I'm sure. You'd probably figure you hadn't much more to lose either by doing something desperate.
 

I absolutly agree with you, the anology towards the Weimar-type republic is great.

If you have people claiming "I will be left with €6.50 [a week] to live on – chicken feed,” than I think it is clear that there is so much despair and propaganda out there that people will be polarised so much that charlatans on both sides will use this as an opportunity for themselves.

If there are more people in the same 6.50€ situation (in which I do not believe but that aside) than how long is it going to take before they demand food from the govermerment?

If public transport does not longer work because Dublin Bus is on a long term strike, unemployed can not get benefits (because public service is on strike), ambulances don't go anymore and the army refuses to step in (as their "union" already said) than sooner or later we are going to see civil unrest of some sort.

The Goverment must act now and reform this country!
