I forgot to Claim TRS in 2001

Hi

I have just realised i never claimed trs on my first apt from 2001 to 2006 then i sold apt. Then I sent an application in 2009 when I bought my new home but it was never processed. So can I now claim FTB TRS from 2009 until now or will they only let me claim it as a second time applicant?

We bought in 2001 and sold 2005. The tax relief was just deducted at source by the mortgage people, so we didn't claim it every year as a payment or anything.
We were told later on that if we wrote and claimed the other 2 years as FTB status for our next house we should get it. It was 7 years then for the bigger allowance. There is something about the year running from Jan to Dec though as well if I remember. You can ring the TRS office 1890 46 36 26, that's what I'd do.

No, 4 years is the most you can go back for tax claims - so only from 2008 (inclusive) onwards.
