I need to get my old carpet. up to lay lamnate. Its stuck with glue to concrete flooring. Any ideas on how to dissolve glue, or tips to remove carpet - apart from "chiselling" it up. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

You could also get one of those long handled grout scrapers similar to http://www.amazon.com/Floor-Bully-Laminate-Flooring-Stripper/dp/B0000224PU and it would save a lot of the back ache when scraping.
I think I got mine in "4 homes" and i'ts a great implement which can be used for multitudes of tasks.
