How to save a word doc as a pdf?

Anyone know how to do it??
You don't really "save" it as a pdf, you print it to/as a pdf file.

There are lots of tools out there to allow you to print to pdf. I'd happily suggest CutePDF. (the free version should be more than enough for your current needs)

As an aside, you can pick up Adobe PDF Reader free if you need to view PDF files. You can also pick up software to allow you to edit pdfs, but this probably won't be needed just yet.

Well Holy God Biddy, but doesn't that bate all.

Get a Mac - select File > Print in Word and click the PDF button in the Print dialog box...

I'm running OpenOffice v2.4 on Ubuntu 8.04 right now and there is a menu option called File > Export As PDF...

Ah crumbs - so there it is !! Well if that isn't yet another reason to dump Bill, I don't know what is!:)

Hi All

Have just downloaded Open Office and now I can't find it on my computer! It took all night as I only have dial up internet. Hopefully I'm missing something really obvious here and someone can help me to locate it. Need to send a word document as a PDF file today so having a bit of a panic attack! Thanks for all your help in advance.

Perhaps you downloaded it but did not install it? Downloading the likes of OpenOffice over dial-up is crazy. Have you not tried some of the other options already mentioned?

Thanks Clubman. Didn't realise there were smaller downloads that would enable me to convert a word doc to PDF. Have now downloaded cutepdf and it seems to be working ... up to a certain stage. Have downloaded and installed it and when I open the word doc I want to convert to PDF and do the whole print business the cutepdf program is there and then I do save as a cutepdf file and I can see it in my folder along with the original word doc.

However, when I open it it is all gobbley gook - any ideas?
