Hi,

Is there a way of removing the white spaces from porcelain tiles that were put down by tiler (but who left sick), they are now set inplace, is there anything that i can use to remove them or a chemical to soften the adhesive to remove them without chipping the tiles?

Cheers

If, as I suspect, he stuck the spacers flat between 4 tiles, then pray he stays out sick as he's not a tiler.

Your only hope is to tackle the the spacers with a needle-nosed pliers one end at a time, hoping you won't do damage.

don't talk to me..wifes brother (expert tiler!!!! my ***)

Is there any other way...i thought i say a bottle of adehsive remover in a tile store before..could this be used to often the grip on the spacers..

What size spacers did he use, are they solid or hollows? Try using a small strong flat blade screwdriver and it may pick them out

If some are deep enough to grout over, that means that the tiles are thick enough for you to get a thin flat bladed screwdriver to give them a gentle knock to sink them below the tile surface. Then you can groutover them.

they are normally pushed down far enough to remain in place,if not they will be 2-4 mm spacers plenty of room to work be careful as porc is easy to chip , as it may be tricky to grout your porc, may need dewaxing and sealing ;do not attempt; unless 100% sure, if tiler left sick assume not paid, bring in good tiler , some spacers will pop up and some will push down

thanks...for that...will look at them at the weekend to see how bad it is..its funny how he has spacers where you would see them and then the areas out of sight he removed..oh !!!!
