how to move my rent allowance

hello,
i was wondering how i go about changing my rent allowance from one property to another. my landlord has become very difficult as i think he is trying to sell the house i live in. i am truing to move rent allowance but am told by both the local authority and my SWO that it the others problem. can anyone give some advice. thanks
 
Who is paying your Rent Supplement? If it's the HSE, you deal with your CWO.

If you're part of the Rental Accommodation Scheme, your landlord is paid by the local authority so you need to talk to them.
 
hey, yeah i get paid by the health board. but when i asked my SWO he said to talk to the local authority, who in turn said its his issue to deal with. also i have been recently told that the rent allowance was to drop, i got a letter stating this and three weeks later my rent supp. was reduced. i now do not know what to do as i cant get a job, cant pay rent and am basically being forced with my child to have to move to social housing, which in limerick means a bad area.
 
You should be on the Local Authority Housing list (one of the requirements to apply for Rent Supplement in the first place), so perhaps the CWO asked you to talk to the Local Authority to put yourself on the list or check where you are on the list if you're already on it.

Rent Supplement isn't transferred as such, if you find new private rented accommodation (which must be under the rent limit for your family size and the area you're living in), you make an application to the CWO for that area - you should talk to that CWO before you make any move.

Keep in mind that if you refuse social housing twice, you will not be eligible for Rent Supplement.

All rent supplements were reduced in June of this year, as a result of the April budget.
 
yeah, i am on the housing list but unfortunatly they keep offering me places in the roughest parts of town. i dont feel that i could move there, especially not after paying high taxes for over six years. it just seems that no matter what i do i keep getting knocked back into this crap, i mean i used to have a good job and when i knew it was finishing up i moved to a cheaper house, then i get trouble from that and now that i want to move i am getting more trouble. how can a country run like this? it seems the harder you work the less you get for it.
